I love my classes. I love that I am able to provide women with an opportunity to craft in a relaxed environment, I’ve always found that being able to do so is so beneficial for me. With that in mind I wanted to do something for women that may not currently be in a situation where attending a craft class is possible. I wanted to be able to reach out and in doing so encourage the women around me to participate also.
I’ve formulated a few ways to make that happen…
I’ve booked two cinemas at the Blueroom Cinebar at Rosalie for the movie “Mother’s Day”. It looks like a fantastic movie and the Blueroom is an amazing experience, very similar to Gold Class.
April 29, be there by 6pm for a 6:30 movie.
$30 per person, this includes your movie ticket, a house drink and a goodie bag. Lucky door prizes and raffles will be on offer also.
Bookings and payments are due now, all seats must be pre-purchased. Contact me to reserve your seats and for payment information.
I’m encouraging all guests to bring donations of sanitary products, these will be given to “Share the Dignity”, an amazing organisation who will redistribute the items to women in need.
All profits raised will be donated to “My Friend’s Place” another worthwhile organisation which offers accommodation to women and their children who are homeless as a result of domestic violence. We have already been given a wish list that includes a printer/scanner and improved security by the installation of cameras, I’d love to make this happen!
If you cannot attend the movie night I encourage you to donate sanitary items to me prior to the event (a few of you already have, thank you!). If you are a local business owner I would like to offer you the opportunity to advertise to my guests by providing me with a raffle prize (in doing so you are able to place your business flyers/cards in 118 goodie bags).
Another way to pay-it-forward to women in need is to attend a “cards for a cause” class. These will be held on Wednesday 11th May at 10am and Friday 13th May at 7pm. $30.
These classes will be “stamp a stack” style classes. You will make 12 cards (3 each of 4 designs), it will boost your supply. I would then like you to make one of each design (if you have time) to donate to “My Friend’s House” so that the families can use them as they celebrate occasions while living within it’s safe walls.
