I recently ran a Facebook competition and asked for my followers to comment and share my post for the chance to win their own set of “Good Greetings” stamps. I also promised to send everyone who commented their own card in their own choice of theme.
Here is one I made for Lainie who wanted a “thinking of you card in greens”. I loved the chance to use “Everything Eleanor”, a stamp set I love but don’t use often enough. Other stamp sets used are “Dictionary” and “Teeny Tiny Sentiments”.
The hardest part of this card was figuring out how I would like to place my sentiment. You can’t tell but there are failed attempts under the ribbon and under the punched banners.
The technique is Emboss Resist, one of my absolute favourites, if you don’t know how to do this technique you need to get yourself over to one of my classes!
I only wanted part of the dictionary stamp to show through…so I made a mask…
I used the mat as a stamping surface when I stamped the background, I got a much better transfer of the image that way.
Colours used are Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz and a bit of Old Olive in the sponging. I added a touch of retired Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon.
Hope you like it Lainie!
