In 2011 I was excited to finally host a Christmas in July celebration, it had been something I had wanted to do for a long time!
Each adult guest was required to bring one small gift of less than $20 for their designated recipient. The gifts were all fantastic. The Secret Santa was deliberately drawn so that couples would not get each other. I guess without the typical December frenzy there was more time to get creative and find something particularly meaningful to each recipient. I organised for each child to receive a wheat/rice heat pack, they loved them!
I didn’t want to spend a lot of money to decorate the table, but I did want it to be nice and festive. I gathered a lot of twigs and pine cones from our area and went crazy with some gold spray paint. I then happened upon these great vases from Crazy Clarks for $4 each…
As I was scrounging around the house I found a couple of green candles which matched my colour scheme, so I incorporated them with the pine cones and an additional centre piece…Each place setting…
I made these Fruit Mince Tarts (and left them near my Dad);
So glad you got the vibe re next year !!!!
It was a great day and lovely to have a family event which we all enjoyed thanks so much Bec and Peter for all your hard work.
