Christmas Wreath

I am so in love with the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die (page 194 Main Catalogue) for the Big Shot that is exclusive to Stampin’ Up!  Along with the Silicone Craft Sheet  (page 31 Holiday Catalogue) and a hot glue gun you have super easy Rosette’s, making a project like this extremely easy.

wreathI was trying to make this wreath on a foam ring, it really wasn’t working out for me but fortunately my friend Deb had this twig wreath that I could steal.  The upside is that I now have a foam ring that I can recreate Sophie’s beautiful flower wreath on that we saw at Regionals yesterday!

The bow on the top of the wreath is made using Designer Fabric from page 4 of the Holiday Catalogue called “Candlelight Christmas”.  As the name suggests it is a perfect match to the Specialty Designer Series Paper “Candlelight Christmas” which is also on page 4.  If you would like to make a bow like the one I have done you can find a very comprehensive tutorial here: http://patches.typepad.com/notes_from_the_patch/2011/06/hair-bows.html You will see that the tutorial is for a ribbon, but it is a great overview of how to get the end result.  I used the Fabric Adhesive Roll on page 177 to get a nice folded long piece of fabric without any seams, this also gave the fabric a great weight and dimension to hold the shape of the bow well.

The Rosettes have also got features from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits (found on page 191).  (Use this Sizzlit with a sheet of wax paper on the die cutting surface between your cardstock and the die to assist with removing all the cut out pieces.)  I love my Antique Brads and they are featured on this project also (you’ll find the brads on page 174).  I have also used the Snow Flurry Bigz die on page 14 of the Holiday Catalogue.

The rosettes were attached to the wreath with hot glue.

I’d love to answer any questions that you have about the this project and I would really recommend you give it a go. Once I got started it came together really quickly.  Using the same pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a very easy way to ensure that your finished project will be beautifully coordinated with a minimum amount of fuss and stress.

Happy Stampin’

Bec.
