Make a monster.

I wanted to make a card with “make a monster” and came across this one from Darlene, I really couldn’t think of anything much to change, I loved it the way it was.

As you can see I have used the “Make a Monster” Stamp set, the sentiment from “on your Birthday” and some of the lovely “Playdate” designer series paper.  I was on a roll and I have another 4 of these cards to make for some other special birthdays coming up.  I think this card is quite gender neutral and I intend to make the cards for the girls in just the same way.  The complimentary cardstock colours in this card is Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Old Olive.  I have used Watercolour paper (it is so worth it, the result you get is AMAZING), I stamped the images with versamark, added some black embossing powder and heat set it.  It gives you a great rigid outline in which to colour.  I have used a technique of going around the inside edge of the embossed image with the thin end of my Stampin’ Write Marker and then used the Aqua painter to bleed the colour out.  No doubt that does not make sense, maybe you should come along to a class and we can have a play with our aqua painters 🙂

Happy Stampin’

  1. Your card looks amazing and I’m sure Linda (and Archie) were suitably impressed!! Love the idea of watercolouring at a class….

  2. i was VERY impressed, but then I am always impressed with your beautiful work. You are so clever and are often a great source of inspiration for me. Archie LOVED his card he was so excited to get a monster card to go with his theme. You are so much better thanhis slack mother who still has not finished his birthday card – and his birthday was nearly 2 weeks ago!!!!!
