My father-in-law recently celebrated his birthday and here is the card I gave him, it was my second attempt and believe me it looks a lot better in real life…
It uses the Sale-a-bration set “So happy for you” along with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing folder, both are only available until the end of March so you know what you have to do if you don’t want to miss out! I think that they wide striped ribbon and Antique Brad give the card a very special touch, even though my husband maintains that there is no place for ribbon on masculine cards.. My colours are Night of Navy, Always Artichoke, Naturals Ivory and a little bit of Chocolate Chip. I was going for a real natural feel for a man who loves Australia and lots of outdoor activities.
So, with that in mind you can imagine why I just knew that this following card would simply NOT DO!!!
To me this card simply screams “the United States of America”. I showed my Father In Law, we had a bit of a chuckle and he agreed. It will instead be sent to my Uncle-In-Law (if there is such a word) for his very belated birthday, as he lives in Virginia and Pete and I will visit him later in the year (which would explain the fact that I have the USA on my mind). It is a concern however, as we will be over there for 2 weeks and I may need an interpreter for my classes once I get back, as it is likely that no one will be able to understand me due to my thick American accent upon my return. Oh well, we will cross that bridge when we come to it.
So I know I should be really excited about all the cultural experiences awaiting me overseas, and I am, but I can’t help but obsess over the access to amazing (and much cheaper) craft supplies that will be waiting for me the minute I step off the plane. Sad but true.
Until next time,
Happy Stampin’
