Holy Birthday Batman!

6 Jul

The best things about having awesome customers/friends is that they share all their best ideas with me!  Even better is that they don’t have their own blogs, so I get to be the first one to put all their fantastic cards our there to you!!!

Here is a recent on that Netty made:

Isn’t this just so cute!

Netty gave me a photo of one of her cards as my inspiration and then the card above is what I came up with.  Netty used the owl punch for the cape and mask.  The stamp set “Party this Way” has been used for the balloons.  I used the set “Short and Sweet” for the sentiment.  The ribbon is retired, but was a Real Red Striped Grosgrain.  The colours I have used are Real Red, Bashful Blue and Whisper White.  The DSP is from “Playdate”.  I have used a bit of Blush Blossom (retired) cardstock for Batman’s face.

So, if you want to copy this cute little Batman, remember Netty came up with it first :)   Anytime you want to run a class Netty you just let me know :)

Scrapbooking!

23 May

Yes, don’t fall over….I have done some Scrapbooking!

I have a scrapbooking class coming up so needed to get organised in giving them a sample project.lily fox  As you can see it similar layout to the one on page 29 Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue but I decided to change the colours a bit (actually that is not really true…I went to make this layout exactly the same but had a mini panic attack when I realised that I didn’t have any 12×12 Kraft so I had improvise).

Here is the girl version.

Stamp Sets: Fox and Friends, Defining Alphabet, Short & Sweet.

Cardstock: Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette.

Inks: Mellow Moss, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip.

Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch (yes, we do have one, it was accidently left off the catalogue). Dimensionals, Stamp-a-majic, Silver brads and 1/16 hole punch.

The boy version:

zane foxEverything as above except add some Bashful Blue cardstock and ink, and also some Brocade Blue ink for the little whale.

You could do lots more journalling on that blank block, I was time poor so just added the little “love you” stamp.

I wanted to make a more neutral page that did not require photos so quickly whipped up this one:

neutral boxThose blank boxes could be filled up with any journalling that you wanted, such as Birth details.  They are also a place to put stamped sentiments or other words using the defining alphabet stamps such as “love” etc.

The coloured block is So Saffron.  The little fox is Pale Plum and all other colours as listed above.

This is a super easy page, the blocks I have used are 5 cm x 3 inches (sorry about the two different types of measurement!)

Simple card number 2

19 Jan

Here is another card that we made at my recent workshop:

  • simple2Stamp Set: Short and sweet
  • Cardstock: Ruby Red
  • Designer Series Paper: Sweet Slumber Speciality
  • Inks: Ruby Red (to sponge the edges of the circles), Versamark.
  • Accessories: 1 inch circle punch, sponge, rub ons (from the hand drawn hostess bundle), white embossing powder, Dimensionals.
  •

Really quick, really easy.  The dimensionals add interest and the sponging softens the edges of the circles.

Check in tomorrow for the final card in this series.

Simplicity!

18 Jan

When it comes to scrapbooking my friends and I often repeat the mantra “Simple Pages, Completed Albums” and yet still tend to sit for hours agonising over paper colours and photo placement.  However with this idea in mind I decided to teach some quick and simple yet cute cards for my workshops on the weekend.

simple1Thank you to Lou for the inspiration for these cards, which she found from here

  • Stamp set: Short and Sweet, Hand-drawn hostess set.
  • Cardstock: Baja Breeze
  • Inks: Ruby Red, versamark.
  • Designer Series Paper: Sweet Slumber Speciality
  • Accessories: Signo White Gel Pen, White Embossing Powder, 1 1/4 inch square punch.

Super easy quick card!  During the workshop we made two more designs (which I will share with you over the next couple of days, and a matching handbag to pop them in.  My idea was that it would be a quick gift for someone, you could make the bag and then get to use your leftover scraps on your cards.
