A tip for tracking your framelits!

Here’s another tip for keeping track of framelits (or as I like to say…the lego of the craft world!).

Each packet has a code, for example our Large Number Framelits are 140622.

Check out your individual framelits, it may not be easy to see at first but they will be etched with this code too…

If you would like some more tips on storing these pesky little critters you can check out this post here.

The year of the wedding!

This year some very special family members are getting married! It is so super exciting and I’ve already made their card (thanks to a friend coming over who was also making wedding cards and therefore got me inspired.)

This card also works in silver but as you can see I’ve made it with Shimmer White and Gold.  I’ve used a few framelits – “Botanical Builder”, “Rose Garden”, “Squares” and “Bold Butterfly”.  Punches are “Bitty Butterfly”.  Stamps are “Gorgeous Grunge” and a retired one “Occasional Quotes”.  I’ve used some pearls and gold metallic thread. I’ve also used a retired little embossing strip for the detail down the bottom of the card.  This card is the bigger A5 style which I don’t make very often.

There’s a little bit of a trick to getting your flowers edged in gold embossing powder…

You edge the flower in the versa mark by simply rolling it over the pad (like the flower is a wheel rolling along the surface).

You then need to roll the linked flower in the embossing powder in the same kind of way,

Flick the excess powder off the flower and then heat set the powder.  You should now have a flower that looks something like this…

A flower and brown free zone…

I’ve recently run a Facebook competition…more information {{here}} so I’ve been busy catching up on the cards that I now need to make for my lovely Facebook followers who took part!

Sue requested a birthday card that was not floral or brown, so this is what I have come up with:

It uses the Stamp Set “tape it”, which is an easy way to replicate the look of washi tape. I’ve also used “Chalk Talk” and the matching framelits. The butterflies have been cut with the two butterfly punches that are currently available.  The colours are Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.

It was basically a quick and easy card but I seemed to make a lot of mistakes with this one…I got there in the end!

Christmas Countdown – Project 75

I wanted to share a quick card with you that I made for a recent workshop…

The Stamp Set  is “Scentsational Season”, now retired but there are many images that would work.

I have used new In Colours on this card, “Raspberry Ripple” and “Gumball Green” along with “Very Vanilla”. The sentiment is from a new Stamp Set called “More Merry Messages” which can be found on page 15 of the Main Catalogue.

The candy canes have been cut out using framelits from the “Holiday Collection”  then popped up with dimensionals.
