Striking.

16 May

I just loved this card as soon as I saw it and had to make it straight away.  It is a case of one by Tania and was so quick to put together.

As you can see the card uses the ”Elements of Style” stamp set along with the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot Die.

Beautiful Butterfly Birthday Card.

28 Feb

Here is another card that we will make at the March class, have you let me know if you are coming yet?

This is yet another case, I loved the look of it and wanted to give it a try.  I have used Perfectly Penned for the sentiment, it also includes “Celebrate today, thank you and get well” so you can change to any of those on your card if you would like.

The butterflies have been cut with “Beautiful Butterflies” on the Big Shot.

Confession time, the DSP is actually retired.  I am going to use it as it is similar to “First Edition Specialty” which would also work well and is available now.

Double the joy!

I have not yet showed you the cards that I made for Lily and Paige on their recent 8th Birthday.

When thinking of what to make them I decided too glitzy is not glitzy enough…so after pulling out my glitter, pearls and rhinestones I set to work….

Lily’s card:

And Paige’s card:

The stamp set is “Baroque Motifs”, I stamped in versamark, covered that in heat and stick powder (which you then heat set from the underside of the cardstock) and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.  The butterflies have been cut out with the Big Shot and then embossed with various folders.  The number 8 was also cut out with the Big Shot.

The cards are basically the same as it was late at night and coming up with one design was hard enough, and I always worry that one of the girls will like their sister’s card more than their own.  The colour choice was easy as Paige loves pink and Lily loves purple or green.

They did like the cards, but like most kids they were more interested in their gifts :)

Economical Party Bags!

19 Jul

Box number 2 is such a great die for the Big Shot.  It only takes about 3 cm of Sticky Strip to assemble and doesn’t require many lollies to fill it (which appeals to my budget).

For Paige and Lily’s party I wanted something quick and cute and this is what I came up with…

The boy version.  The rocket is a little Sizzlet Die.  The colours are Ballet Blue (retired) and Real Red.  The rocket has been done in some Silver from the Metallics Pack.

The girl version.  I used up as much of my retired DSP as I could.  Candy Lane, Raspberry Tart and Sweet Always predominantly.   Once I cut up my butterflies with the Beautiful Butterfly die I matched up the cardstock.  I have used Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Rose Red.

The butterflies were attached with a Rhinestone Brad, very quick and very easy.
