Double the joy!

4 Aug

I have not yet showed you the cards that I made for Lily and Paige on their recent 8th Birthday.

When thinking of what to make them I decided too glitzy is not glitzy enough…so after pulling out my glitter, pearls and rhinestones I set to work….

Lily’s card:

And Paige’s card:

The stamp set is “Baroque Motifs”, I stamped in versamark, covered that in heat and stick powder (which you then heat set from the underside of the cardstock) and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.  The butterflies have been cut out with the Big Shot and then embossed with various folders.  The number 8 was also cut out with the Big Shot.

The cards are basically the same as it was late at night and coming up with one design was hard enough, and I always worry that one of the girls will like their sister’s card more than their own.  The colour choice was easy as Paige loves pink and Lily loves purple or green.

They did like the cards, but like most kids they were more interested in their gifts :)

Ribbon basics.

Here are some basic cards that I made recently, once you add that beautiful striped grosgrain ribbon you don’t need much else!  This one uses Baroque Motifs and Aviary (from the Summer Mini).

And here is one that uses Delightful Decorations.

You are in the right spot…

10 Oct

I thought I had better end that run of recipes with this card post, just in case you thought that you were on the wrong blog.

This card was inspired by the catalogue but ended up a little different.  I made this card the morning of our Catalogue Launch when I woke up early and couldn’t get back to sleep.  The challenge was to have something I could put on my display board (therefore couldn’t use any retired product) but my big order with all my new toys had not yet arrived.

I have used Not Quite Navy with a little Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.  As you can see I have used the Bird Punch and the stamps “Baroque Motifs and En Francais. Punches are Boho Blossoms, Eyelet Border, the tag is a Sizzlet.  Linen thread and our new pearls finish off this card that my daughter Paige called “her favourite”.

Walk me down the aisle…

page kHere are our pages that reflect on Dad’s involvement in our weddings.

I have used Baroque Motifs and a Close to Cocoa cardstock background.  They don’t really show up all that well in this photo but the little white dots are Pearls from the Pretties Kit, they are attached with Mini Pop Dots.
