Scrapbooking = number 1 crafting love for me. I think the combination of preserving my family’s memories whilst also being creative is a perfect use of my time. Kids are always cute in photos so even if I’m having a bit of a rough time with any of them I can connect through the photos and the memories and remember how worthwhile my role as their mother is.
Honestly though my scrapbooking efforts have been dismal of late, however for the next 30 days I have set a goal to complete or create from scratch a page for each of my children’s special personalised albums. These albums are 8×8 inch (I find this to be a really achievable page size for me). They will be presented to each child on their 21st birthday. There is a layout for at least every 6 months of their life – but many extra pages too, such as when it was an especially gorgeous photo or milestones for their siblings.
I’m at least 4 years behind on these albums and many pages are missing dates or journaling. I’m actually not too heavy on the journaling on any of the pages as I write a letter to each child around their birthday anyway (which they also will receive on their 21st birthday) so a lot of information is in them instead.
This is a page that will be included in each album in exactly the same layout. I love making sure they all appear in each other’s album as they grow and change. Some of the items I’ve used are retired but could easily be adapted with new items.
I’ve added this supply list below. I can’t find the little butterflies or the tags as they were Sizzlets we had ages ago. The crumb cake card stock was stamped with Timeless Textures, I adore this stamp set, I think it adds so much detail to the layout. Everything has been sponged which also easily adds interest to an otherwise simple layout. The “never stop exploring” was stamped with Versamark and heat set with clear embossing powder. Any questions please ask!
