A month of scrapbooking – day 13

Today I’m sharing a page that is more about the photos than the layout.  I also made some mistakes recreating the layout and had to add some extra photos to one of the pages to even out the design.

Most of the pages have 8 photos (which is a lot for a 8×8 page) but it was important to me to add them all to tell the story.  Depending on the album the photo layout changes slightly to be sure that each child has a larger feature photo in their own album (bottom right).

It is amazing what you think you will remember forever but you don’t.  In going back to these albums several years later I have forgotten dates and details that I have had to research elsewhere.  This has been a great reminder to me on how important it is to add as much detail to the pages now.

So as you can see the pages are really just a collage of photos.  I have the journalling printed out on vellum and laid over some Cherry Cobbler card stock.  I added a mosaic of designer series paper that has been cut with a retired postage stamp punch.

A month of scrapbooking – day 12

Welcome to day 12 of my scrapbooking challenge…“to complete an unfinished layout or create a new one from scratch every day for the next 30 days”.  Check out this first post here to get some more information on my children’s scrapbooks *day one*

This cute page was the result of giving Zane the rest of the lolly packet when he was around 3 1/2 years of age.  I loved this DSP and still have quite a bit of it left so no doubt you’ll see it again in the albums for my daughters.

I got the idea from Becky Higgins to a photo a month with the same item throughout your child’s first year.  It isn’t really obvious as I cropped down the photos but these are pictures of Zane with the same teddy bear for the first 12 months of his life.  I’ve used our swirly scribble framelits along with circle framelits.

I had some time to myself.  I really should have done the housework and the groceries, I put this together instead!

Here we are at day 9 of my own scrapbooking challenge…“to complete an unfinished layout or create a new one from scratch every day for the next 30 days”.  Check out this first post here to get some more information on my children’s scrapbooks *day one*

This photo was included in my Christmas cards that year, I loved the photo so much and I knew it had to be included in each child’s album.

The only thing I needed to do was to add the date.

This paper was all from Stampin’ Up! and is sadly now retired.

I couldn’t resist adding this super fun photo into the albums for the kids.  All I needed to do what to add the date.  I’ve used my retired little rotary stamp, it reminds me of the ones they use at the library 🙂
