I love the extra time that the school holidays bring, lots of time for some organising to prepare for the start of the school year. I have continued to spend time in the craft room attempting to make sense of all the miscellaneous bits and pieces around the place.
Today I achieved something I’ve wanted to do for ages, I now have a place for those extra packets of card pieces from workshops. I will eventually post a picture but basically you will be able to purchase these packets and make up extra cards, one of the cards to choose from is this one:
This card is quite similiar to one that was on the back cover of last year’s Idea Book and Catalogue. I have updated it to include the current stamp set “For Everything”. I love the new “Square Lattice” embossing folder, this is the first time I have used it, and it will not be the last! You will notice that I am using some retired DSP from “Raspberry Tart” and some pearls from the retired “Pretties Kit”. Oh and also the retired Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon.
Here are some little Owls all set for their big walk down the aisle. This feature would be fantastic on the front of a Wedding card.
Some of our new self adhesive Pearls really enhance this gorgeous pair. I have added the full heart behind them, and also the top of a Scallop Oval for her bridal veil. They just can’t take their eyes off each other!
I have promised a while back to share with you the versatile new Owl punch. I am finally here…
So this is what you punch each time:
If you look around the internet you will find so many different ideas, I’m going to schedule a few posts to show you some of them.
Firstly here is a card cased from Teneale
I couldn’t work out how Teneale had managed such perfect detail on the chest, until I finally clicked that it is a paper from the DSP “Elegant Soiree”. I have added the sentiment from Perfect Punches, which has been mounted on one of the tags from the Big Shot (which is really the only thing that I have done differently to Teneale. You can also see that the Woodgrain background stamp has been used. I love our new Satin Ribbon (Marina Mist has been used here). The card has a coating of shimmer paint that has been spritzed with some Isocol (rubbing alcohol), it just makes the card look dirty here, in real life it has the most beautiful glittery shimmer.
Anyway, the kids are out of the pool (don’t worry Mum was supervising them 🙂 ), I need to finish dinner, do showers etc etc etc.
I’ll be back tomorrow with much more!
I love this Stamp Set, they are just so cute.
Stamp Set: Lots of Bots.
The card was once again inspired by our wonderful Idea Book and Catalogue, can you tell that I have hardly put this book down???
I think this would be a great card for a boy, Pete (my husband) would not agree as he doesn’t think there is a place for ribbon on any male card!
One of the Stamp Sets we were given at Convention was “Printed Petals”. Steph has used it here on her card from our Catalogue Launch:
This card was given to me for my Birthday and I wasn’t able to show it to you until now. On the day we used the Scallop Oval punch to recreate the fancy little feature on the bottom right of the card, you can now buy a punch just like it in our catalogue (Modern Label). Mine just arrived in the post yesterday, I can’t wait to use it!
This card uses Rich Razzleberry, Cake Crumb (previously Kraft) and Basic Black, with some So Saffron stamped on the flowers and also punched in the middle of the large flower. The background has been stamped with “Sanded”.
Here is a second card from last Saturday…
This card has a Old Olive background, a crimped feature of Elegant Eggplant and some Confetti White. I have punched out the new Fancy Flower in Rose Red and then stamped the “For You” individual stamp in Rose Red also. It has been punched out with the 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch and layered on top of the 1 3/8 inch Circle punch that has been punched in Elegant Eggplant. The Scallop Edge punch and a turn back with a silver brad finish off this card.
