Cute!

June 20th, 2010

Yikes, time is flying by.  I have heaps to share but a little flat out getting ready for Red Nose Day.  Just to show you I’m still alive I will post this quickie.

This was on my first website but I hadn’t added it here so….

punch clipsMaybe I am just trying to justify my magnificant punch collection or maybe I was just in a punch art mood but this is what I have been playing around with lately.  Tutorials can be found here

I love these little critters.  Can you believe that the lion’s mane is actually a from scallop circle?  I’ll show you how that is done in my next post.  You need a few punches, may of which are very popular ones and you may even have.  The eyes are paper too (when I first saw them online I thought they may have been those googly eyes you can buy).  I have done them with a regular style hole punch (for the white part) and the 1/16 inch hand held punch (for the little black dot).  I used tombow glue to put them together and attached them to the paper clip with some glue dots (there is a 1 3/8 circle on the back of the paperclip).

These are easy enough to make with your kids and would make excellent gifts for their friends.  Any questions just let me know.

I’ll be back with more soon!

Medallions…

June 6th, 2010

The Medallion stamp is not the first stamp I purchased from the Autumn/Winter Mini, but it is likely to be the one that I have used the most (aside from my little Mr Bot who was stamped hundreds of times for my recent Convention Swap!)

I have cased some cards from Linda and Steph and added one of my own, I think they may a great set.  Firstly here is mine:

mambo medI have used Melon Mambo ink, cardstock and ribbon along with Whisper White.  The punch is the middle is from our Boho Blossoms Punch (which is one of the specials on this week’s June special, which finishes on Tuesday night).  The punch is held in place with a Rhinestone Brad.

The sentiment is from “Heard from the Heart” from our current Mini.  I only just told my Mother today that I did not have this Stamp Set…it is evident that I do indeed own this stamp set and I will dig it out for you Mum!

I have also used our corner punch, it is not pictured in a catalogue but is available if you are interested.

raz medHere is a Rich Razzleberry version.  I have yet to meet ANYONE that is not completely in love with this colour.  Thank goodness it is going to become part of our new Colour Collection.  Once again a Rhinestone Brad has been used in both the centre of the stamp and as a feature in the bow of the ribbon.

suede medHere is a Soft Suede Version.

The stamp has been inked in Soft Suede and then “Rock and Rolled” in Chocolate Chip around the edges.  When Pennie made this card she had the ribbon on the white side of the card. It looked awesome too but I did not get a photo.

A second stamp was stamped in Chocolate Chip on some scrap and punched out to be placed on some Chocolate Chip cardstock in the centre of the Medallion.  A pearl from our Pretties kit was added to the centre of the stamp.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Words (now retired).

Close up

Here is a slightly different version of Lou’s card.  In this one I have used Kiwi Kiss scallop circles that have been stamped with En Francais for the flower (instead of a combination of Elegant Eggplant and Kiwi Kiss).

Happy Birthday Roomie!

May 29th, 2010

lou birthdayIt is Lou’s birthday today!  I have the privilegeof sharing a room with Lou while we were in Sydney.  Lou wearing a lot of green (I say that it is her signature colour) and has a gorgeous Elegant Eggplant flower brooch that I love, with this in mind I set about designing her card and matching bag topper…

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Kiwi Kiss

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Whimsical Words (a retired Sale-a-bration set),  En Francais, Medallion.

Accessories: Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, Button Bouquet, Coloured Rhinestone Brads, Twine, Clear Embossing Powder and heat gun, versamark, embossing buddy, stamp-a-majic, blunt scissors to rough up edges of paper, scallop border punch, scallop oval punch, word window punch, dimensionals, scallop circle punch, sponges.

scallop word backgroundDid you notice the punch behind the Word Window Punch?  No, we have not got a new punch that you haven’t been told about.  I saw this idea on Marelle’s site and I couldn’t wait to use it.  It is a Scallop Oval (which you can still buy even though it is not pictured in a current catalogue) that has had the top and bottom trimmed off.

The technique that I have used on these cards is Emboss Resist which I will be sharing during my Thursday class.  Hope to see you there.

Convention!

May 26th, 2010

shelliThe Annual Stampin’ Up! Convention that was recently held in Sydney was FANTASTIC.  I loved it all and learned so much.  I got the chance to meet Shelli, Stampin’ Up! Co-Founder and CEO.  She is a genuine amazing lady and I feel blessed to be a part of a company lead by her values.  Her husband Sterling was even there packing our purchases from Momento Mall!  No airs and graces that is for sure.

We had our two days of presentations, the chance to use some new stamp sets and win some more, and then the awards dinner.  Thanks to you and your support I walked across the stage to recieve a milestone award for my sales (and another two free Stamp Sets that will not be available until September).

These are the gorgeous table centrepieces that lit the room for our dinner:

table decsThe next Convention is going to be held in Melbourne. I am now looking forward to that.

I had a lovely time being with my Stampin’ Up! mates, lots more photos were taken and I’ll upload them here when they become available.

I am so inspired to do even better this year and look forward to sharing more Stampin’ time with you.

Scrapbooking!

May 23rd, 2010

Yes, don’t fall over….I have done some Scrapbooking!

I have a scrapbooking class coming up so needed to get organised in giving them a sample project.lily fox  As you can see it similar layout to the one on page 29 Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue but I decided to change the colours a bit (actually that is not really true…I went to make this layout exactly the same but had a mini panic attack when I realised that I didn’t have any 12×12 Kraft so I had improvise).

Here is the girl version.

Stamp Sets: Fox and Friends, Defining Alphabet, Short & Sweet.

Cardstock: Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette.

Inks: Mellow Moss, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip.

Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch (yes, we do have one, it was accidently left off the catalogue). Dimensionals, Stamp-a-majic, Silver brads and 1/16 hole punch.

The boy version:

zane foxEverything as above except add some Bashful Blue cardstock and ink, and also some Brocade Blue ink for the little whale.

You could do lots more journalling on that blank block, I was time poor so just added the little “love you” stamp.

I wanted to make a more neutral page that did not require photos so quickly whipped up this one:

neutral boxThose blank boxes could be filled up with any journalling that you wanted, such as Birth details.  They are also a place to put stamped sentiments or other words using the defining alphabet stamps such as “love” etc.

The coloured block is So Saffron.  The little fox is Pale Plum and all other colours as listed above.

This is a super easy page, the blocks I have used are 5 cm x 3 inches (sorry about the two different types of measurement!)
