For you!

Here is a second card from last Saturday…

sept birthdayThis card has a Old Olive background, a crimped feature of Elegant Eggplant and some Confetti White.  I have punched out the new Fancy Flower in Rose Red and then stamped the “For You” individual stamp in Rose Red also.  It has been punched out with the 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch and layered on top of the 1 3/8 inch Circle punch that has been punched in Elegant Eggplant.  The Scallop Edge punch and a turn back with a silver brad finish off this card.

Bad Blogger!

Hi all!!!

Well after I have jumped onto my blog and deleted the 140 spam messages waiting for me I FINALLY have a post to share!

I am sorry about my absence, lots of boring excuses, I’m looking forward to a much more productive time ahead.  Our new office is getting some use, in fact Pete and I are sitting out there right now!  We are both completely in love with the new space and the fact that we have our bedroom back (for the last couple of months I was pretty much standing at our doorway and lunging for the bed as the path to get into bed was getting more and more narrow as all my craft stash was in there!  We are going to touch up the ceiling and some more electrical work needs to be done but I hope to have it to the stage of a launch party very very soon.

Anyway back in July I had a birthday, Pete gave me an iPhone that I had been nagging him for for ages.  I love it and as expected it has enhanced my life as much as I thought it would.  I got lots of other lovely bits and pieces that will feature in my office that I will share as they get placed/hung but I can share Linda’s gift.

july-photos-112The gorgeous packaging and card (I stole the piccie from Linda’s site).  Actually I have been turning the room upside down tonight to find the gift!

As you can see Linda has used Vintage Vogue (I’m so happy that this stamp set has made it to our new Catty so I will be able to keep using it for at least another year).  Linda has been using this combination of Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette quite a bit lately, it looks fabulous.

IMG_1194 And here is my beautiful gift from Linda, that her Mum Sandra made.  I love it and have wanted one of these for ages – a stylish place to put all those bits of rubbish that you accumulate during a decent papercraft session!

Our projects from our Fundraiser

Monday, June 28th, 2010

I’m up bright and early this morning (not really sure why, I usually love a sleep in, maybe I’m just excited about the school holidays!)

I don’t have any photos from our actual event on Friday night yet, so I thought I would share what I do have and that is the photos of our projects.

I’ll start with mine….

red nose day becOur guests just did the one card of this design, to keep the costs down I got as much DSP from the one pack that I could, therefore half the cards were made with one pattern and the rest with the other, does that make sense?

On this card we have the Pun Fun and Think Happy Thoughts Stamp Sets.  Plenty of punches with Scallop Circle, 1 3/8 circle, 1 1/4 circle, Boho Blossoms and Scallop Border Punch being used.  I have used the Riding Hood Red DSP, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and of course some more Riding Hood Red cardstock.

Linda and Louise encouraged me to stay with the red theme for our cards, and I’m so glad they did as it really worked well for our night.

This card is a case of one that I saw on Becky Robert’s site. Actually  ever finding Becky’s site is a little bit of a liability for me as I end up just spending too long blog surfing and dreaming – you would not believe how long I just took to find the card agred nose day louain and stop looking at all the other super duper stuff on her site!!! Yikes!

Then we have Lou’s card:

Lou used the fabulous Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, one of our best sellers, and it is easy to see why.  The sentiment is from the set On Your Birthday.  Real Red, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White are the colours used.

You can mask the flowers when stamping this card if you want them to overlay, the other way to do it is as is done here, with some cutting out around the flowers to sit them up on dimensionals.  Love it.

steph cardHere is Steph’s card.

The Stamp Sets Wanted, Sanded and Teeny Tiny Sentiments have been used. All the sponging really adds such a lovely touch to this card.  This card also uses a sheet from the Riding Hood Red DSP, along with Chocolate Chip and the controversial paper “Naturals Ivory” found on page 130 of the catalogue.  This paper caused a stir as Steph was waiting for the paper from her order to finish cutting the rest of her packs for the night, in the meantime I asked Linda and Louise if they had some for back up and none of us had really become familiar with this paper and certainly didn’t have any!  We are now all in love with it and no doubt its sales will go through the roof! :) Would not be the first time Steph has cost me money!

linda 3d red nose dayHere is Linda’s 3D project.  The template is based on Keesh’s card folder, our clever Linda just made hers a little wider (and therefore a little narrower to keep it still a A4 cardstock requirement) so that envelopes would fit also.  Circle Circus has been used, along with some Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon.  Pink Pirouette is used (Linda rarely makes a project without some pink!).

Medallions…

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

The Medallion stamp is not the first stamp I purchased from the Autumn/Winter Mini, but it is likely to be the one that I have used the most (aside from my little Mr Bot who was stamped hundreds of times for my recent Convention Swap!)

I have cased some cards from Linda and Steph and added one of my own, I think they may a great set.  Firstly here is mine:

mambo medI have used Melon Mambo ink, cardstock and ribbon along with Whisper White.  The punch is the middle is from our Boho Blossoms Punch (which is one of the specials on this week’s June special, which finishes on Tuesday night).  The punch is held in place with a Rhinestone Brad.

The sentiment is from “Heard from the Heart” from our current Mini.  I only just told my Mother today that I did not have this Stamp Set…it is evident that I do indeed own this stamp set and I will dig it out for you Mum!

I have also used our corner punch, it is not pictured in a catalogue but is available if you are interested.

raz medHere is a Rich Razzleberry version.  I have yet to meet ANYONE that is not completely in love with this colour.  Thank goodness it is going to become part of our new Colour Collection.  Once again a Rhinestone Brad has been used in both the centre of the stamp and as a feature in the bow of the ribbon.

suede medHere is a Soft Suede Version.

The stamp has been inked in Soft Suede and then “Rock and Rolled” in Chocolate Chip around the edges.  When Pennie made this card she had the ribbon on the white side of the card. It looked awesome too but I did not get a photo.

A second stamp was stamped in Chocolate Chip on some scrap and punched out to be placed on some Chocolate Chip cardstock in the centre of the Medallion.  A pearl from our Pretties kit was added to the centre of the stamp.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Words (now retired).

Happy Birthday Roomie!

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

lou birthdayIt is Lou’s birthday today!  I have the privilegeof sharing a room with Lou while we were in Sydney.  Lou wearing a lot of green (I say that it is her signature colour) and has a gorgeous Elegant Eggplant flower brooch that I love, with this in mind I set about designing her card and matching bag topper…

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Kiwi Kiss

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Whimsical Words (a retired Sale-a-bration set),  En Francais, Medallion.

Accessories: Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon, Button Bouquet, Coloured Rhinestone Brads, Twine, Clear Embossing Powder and heat gun, versamark, embossing buddy, stamp-a-majic, blunt scissors to rough up edges of paper, scallop border punch, scallop oval punch, word window punch, dimensionals, scallop circle punch, sponges.

scallop word backgroundDid you notice the punch behind the Word Window Punch?  No, we have not got a new punch that you haven’t been told about.  I saw this idea on Marelle’s site and I couldn’t wait to use it.  It is a Scallop Oval (which you can still buy even though it is not pictured in a current catalogue) that has had the top and bottom trimmed off.

The technique that I have used on these cards is Emboss Resist which I will be sharing during my Thursday class.  Hope to see you there.

Love to Nan

Friday, February 26th, 2010

I often look for an excuse to make cards with the girls, kinda like a win/win situation :)   This is from a recent session with Tegan:

tegan for nanWhile we were making our cards Tegan said “you know I would rather just make up my own design that copy one of yours”.  I did not know whether to be proud of her creativity or sad that she is not the blatant copier that I am!

Anyway, here is her ORIGINAL creation…

Stamp Sets: Embrace Life, Defining Alphabet. Whimsical Words.

She has cut out her flower and adhered it on top of some “5 Petal Flower” Punched shapes as they are her leaves.  She has also used the Curly Label punch.

Her colours are Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, River Rock (retired as it is one of last year’s In Colours) and some retired DSP (it was called “Ginger Blossom”).

Good work Tegs, maybe you can be my card designer?

Finale of Party Hearty Showcase!

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Here are my last two cards that use Party Hearty.  Believe me there is still so much more that you can do with this set.

This one is like one on Marelle’s site:

candy heartyThis card uses Candy Lane DSP.  I used markers to colour on the stamp so that I was able to get the different colours.

pink heartyThis card also uses some Candy Lane DSP along with Regal Rose ribbon and cardstock. The top of the cupcakes have some Dazzling Diamonds.

I’ll soon be sharing a big scrapbooking project that I have been working on, so check back often!

Showcasing Party Hearty Day 3

pretty heartyHere is a card very similiar to yesterday’s card.  It was inspired by one on Mary’s blog.  Isn’t it amazing how a different colour combination changes the look of the card!

Showcasing Party Hearty Day 2

Friday, February 19th, 2010

kaz bdayHere is a card that I made last year for my sister’s birthday.  It is not a complicated card and really quick to make.

It uses DSP from “Sweet Always” and then the coordinating colours of Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pumpkin Pie.  It is so easy to make a beautiful card because everything matches so well.

Circle Circus Showcase….Day 6

Friday, February 12th, 2010

IMG_0324Here is another card we did at one of Steph’s Technique Classes.

I think this card is a great one to have on hand and just add the sentiment at the last minute to suit your occasion.  I really like the colour combination even though it is not one I use often.
